Ted Reilly, who plays Johnny Carter, has decided to leave the soap, as he has been offered work in another role.
Ted is going to be starring in a production of McBride.
The actor took over from previous actor Sam Strike, but since acting in the role he has not been given a defining storyline.
An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed to The Metro:
We can confirm Ted has finished filming with EastEnders and wish him all the best for the future.
Other actors set to be leaving the soap are Jacqueline Jossa who plays Lauren Branning and Lorna Fitzgerald, who plays Abi Branning. It has also been revealed that Harry Reid, who plays Ben Mitchell, will also be departing.
